Get Fit with HIIT: The Ultimate Guide for Women

How important is your health? Would you go as far as saying that your health and fitness are important to you? You would be surprised at how many people don’t consider their health and fitness an important aspect of their lives. If you are one of those people, now is the time to change that mentality. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) can be an effective way to lose weight and get fit, no matter what your age or gender is!

What is HIIT?

If you're looking to get fit, HIIT is a great way to do it. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is an exercise strategy where you put in a very hard effort followed by periods of either lighter activity or complete rest. Research has shown that HIIT can be more effective than steady-state aerobic activity, increasing the rate of metabolism and fat oxidation for 24 hours post-workout.

When to do it?

Don't have a gym membership? Do you afford to visit the gym to exercise? Then don't worry. It's time to introduce you to the new craze of 2017-high-intensity interval training!
High-intensity interval training or HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise that alternates periods of high-intensity exercises (usually a few minutes) with low-intensity exercises (usually around 5 minutes). If you're looking for an efficient way to burn calories and get in shape, then HIIT is your answer.

How much time do I need?

HIIT is intense and a great way to maximize fat burning. There are many ways to incorporate HIIT into your life, but the key is to have an open mind, or you'll get discouraged quickly. Make sure you're motivated and have at least 20 minutes free before starting your workout.

How long should each exercise last?

High-intensity interval training, or HIIT, is a workout technique that gets you fit in the shortest amount of time. Each exercise lasts about 20 to 60 seconds and takes about a minute to recover. Here are a few examples of exercises you can do in your home if you don't have access to an instructor or gym.

Which exercises are best?

Many of the exercises that make up an effective HIIT workout are sprints, lunges, and jump-roping. There are several reasons these exercises are recommended; they require the most energy expenditure per minute while not being so demanding as to cause injury. A person will burn approximately 17% more calories by doing a 10-minute HIIT session than a 30-minute cardio session. In addition, these types of workouts also produce a larger growth hormone release than moderate-intensity workouts or resting at home.

Best ways to recover from a workout

There are many different ways to recover from a workout, it really depends on your fitness level and how intense the workout was. I personally love taking a hot shower after I finish my workout or washing my face so that my muscles can relax. Some people take recovery days in between their workouts where they don't do anything at all which is great too!
